Feel the Earth Move!

As therapists we all know that it’s better to take care of our health than to tend to our illness. We’re dedicated to helping our clients get the most out of life and be the best they can possibly be. Yet, despite our best efforts, sometimes life can still get on top of us and get us down. I believe that there’s a way to enhance our health and wellbeing simply, effectively and naturally and it’s by feeling the earth move!

This year marks my eleventh anniversary as a professional Aromatherapist, working with hundreds of people in private practice and learning a lot along the way. I’ve seen the many beneficial effects of aromatherapy in the everyday lives of my clients and how this has had a positive impact for them,

What has become apparent to me through working with people closely is that the energy of the seasons underpins our daily lives, whether we are aware of it or not. Very often we’re so subscribed to keeping on, keeping on that we don’t tune in or listen to something more primeval, connected and in tune with who we really are.

I believe we’re paying the price for keeping on, keeping on, by being more human doing than being and that this manifests in patterns of disease, distress and disharmony. I’m not advocating a return to the wild, as that simply isn’t feasible, or desirable, for many of us.

What I believe helps to foster a sense of ease, harmony and balance is tuning in the seasons, recognising how they underpin our lives and taking tiny steps each day to achieve a healthy, balanced perspective and approach to life. If we integrate those tiny steps in to our lives we can build a healthy foundation from which to live a more balanced and fulfilling life.

In the last four years I’ve been delivering workshops and working on my book, Synergy of the Seasons, which was published this year; exploring how we can use essential oils to complement our daily lives as the seasons change. I’ve had some really positive feedback

I’ll be speaking at Olympia on Monday 2nd October on the Nutrition & Wellbeing Stage. We’ll be exploring a mindful approach to the seasons, recognising how they underpin our modern lifestyles and which essential oils we can use at the key points of the year to help us feel more like human beings and less like human doings.
