FHT Excellence Awards open for entries with a new ‘green’ category for 2020…

The UK’s leading professional association for therapists, the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), has just opened its prestigious 2020 FHT Excellence Awards for entries.

First launched 10 years ago, the FHT’s Excellence Awards showcase how therapists are making a difference to people living in their local community – from helping clients to improve their health and wellbeing, to providing tailored learning and support to students and qualified therapists.

This year sees the introduction of a new category – FHT Green Therapy Business of the Year – in recognition of the growing number of therapists and suppliers embracing sustainability and looking at ways to make therapy products and practices more environmentally friendly.

The full range of awards categories are:

  • Complementary Therapist of the Year
  • Sports Therapist of the Year
  • Beauty Therapist of the Year
  • Student of the Year
  • Tutor of the Year
  • Local Group Coordinator of the Year
  • Green Therapy Business of the Year

Those who enter the awards can self-nominate or put forward an inspirational colleague or team. As well as gaining much deserved recognition, the winners will receive a certificate, trophy, logo for marketing materials, and PR support to help spread the word in their local area, and nationally.

Christopher Byrne, the FHT’s President, commented: ‘As a professional association, we know the incredible work our members are doing, on a day-to-day basis, to help others. The FHT Excellence Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate these achievements and show the world at large not just what ‘best practice’ looks like, but what a difference therapies can make to others, through real-life examples.

‘Now, more than ever, is the time to demonstrate how our industry can help support the NHS and our nation’s health and wellbeing, when the worst of COVID-19 is behind us and it is safe for therapists to return to full practice.’

The closing date for entries is 30 June. Finalists will be published on the FHT website in August and the winners announced later this year.
