The British Beauty Council is a not-for-profit organisation that was founded to represent the voices, opinions and needs of the British beauty industry – from hairdressing to cosmetics, cosmetic surgery, therapy and spa; in education and training; and from formulation to manufacture, supply, logistics packaging, design, retail and media. Our ambition is to support a successful, innovative and inclusive British beauty industry. One that is recognised and valued at all levels of government, throughout the wider economy and by consumers. In 2018 the British beauty industry was worth £28.4 billion to the British Economy. Retail and services have been impacted by the consequences of extensive lockdowns (national and regional), social distancing restrictions and the increased costs of PPE. To support the industry during this time our patron twelveNYC are offering a PPE service to ensure basic Personal Protection Equipment is accessible, compliant and cost effective. Neither the British Beauty Council or twelveNYC will profit from this service. A dedicated portal has been developed to enable store and salon owners to access PPE effectively. The site launches this week and is accessible to all patrons, partner and associate members and will help to ensure consistent and Covid secure practices are followed in line with government guidance.
