Global Beauty Strategist Eryca Freemantle, featured in Forbes Magazine, former makeup artist to A-List celebrities and advisory board member to world renowned university London College of Fashion (UCL) to host a free webinar for the makeup and beauty industry.
E.A.T.O.W. – Embracing All Tones of Women Chairwoman Eryca Freemantle will host a webinar speaking on her experiences as a Global Beauty Strategist.
The webinar is sponsored by TWOK London Makeup. The objective of the webinar is to provide makeup artists and the beauty industry with the skills they need to operate successful businesses. Eryca will be interviewed by renowned journalist Afua Adom. Afua has been a journalist for nearly 15 years, interviewing many world class musicians including Davido, Alicia Keys, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Yemi Alade and many more. She has worked at the forefront of African media in print, TV and radio, for the likes of BBC 1xtra, CNN, ITV, CNBC, LBC, talkRADIO, Channel 4, Channel 5, SKY, Capital Radio, Heart, Glam Africa Magazine, Yanga! and Arise News and brings her infectious energy and love of entertainment and storytelling to the EATOW platform.
Eryca Freemantle is renowned for her work in advancing the path for women of colour, and helping makeup and beauty brands to tailor their products and marketing to cater to this diverse and sizeable market. As she notes, beauty brands are still not adequately catering to women of colour even though the demand is there, and the size of that market is sustainable enough to justify the corporate investment post Co-vid19.
According to Eryca, there are still a number of makeup and beauty brands that are still untransformed and lack diversity and inclusion. This is part of the reason Eryca has always advocated for the transformation of the makeup and beauty industry to enable women of colour to have a seat at the table. Having gone through all this by herself throughout her 35 year career, she admits there was only a handful of brands and platforms who were willing to work with her. She is renowned in the industry for her diversity and inclusive vision.
For the last 13 years, she has spoken and partnered with Olympia Beauty Shows in England, and has regular features in Scratch Magazine and made other appearances at Professional Beauty UK and Dubai; Afro Hair and Beauty UK and many others throughout Africa.
“Through this webinar, I want women to feel enriched, empowered and enlightened on how the makeup and beauty industry operates and how to better equip themselves for success in this industry, as a black woman.” – Eryca Freemantle.
Eryca has also done a tremendous amount of work on the African continent where she focused on issues of empowerment. Eryca retired from the makeup and beauty industry in October 2019 but was called back by makeup and beauty brands who need her continued expertise on diversity and inclusion. Eryca believes there is enough room for everyone in the makeup and beauty industry to work together smartly. She believes the key is understanding the business of beauty.
As a successful businesswoman and networker, Eryca’s client and network base expands over four continents. She will be sharing her journey to date; why it is important that white brands understand the culture and the needs of black women and how she will be uniting people together by showcasing some of the world’s most successful black women on her E.A.T.O.W – BEAUTIFUL ME platform. This extraordinary platform launches its first events in August 2020.
